Shopping-Q is written in Linux C++ and compiled into machine language. This allows Shopping-Q to run at the operating system level which greatly increases speed and provides maximum security.

The Linux operating system is world famous for its features, speed and reliability. Linux runs much faster than Windows and requires significantly less overhead. Shopping-Q is FAST!

Since Shopping-Q is compiled into machine language programs, it does not need to be read in and "parsed" each and every time it is run on your website. "Parsing" means the web server must load the program's source code (script text file) from the server's disk drive, and then decipher its logic which requires additional time and server resources. When a Shopping-Q program is run, it does NOT need to be parsed so the web  server executes it very quickly (just like any one of its operating system programs).

Most other shopping carts are written in a script language like Perl, PHP, or ASP. Scripts are simple text files that must be read in and parsed each and every time the script is run by the server (e.g. when the customer clicks something in your store). This adds a tremendous amount of additional processing load to the web server. Scripted shopping carts can truly slow down a server; especially on busy/large stores! Shopping-Q is not made up of "scripts" and therefore, Shopping-Q programs are extremely fast.

In addition, "scripts" are much less secure since they are plain text files. Anyone can read them and change them. This means that if someone hacks into your website or gains access to the web server for whatever reason, they can easily access your shopping cart scripts and make changes. This could allow a hacker to corrupt your store or even view your customers' personal and payment information.

Since Shopping-Q programs are compiled into machine language, they are super fast and virtually impossible to change without the original source code. As a result, Shopping-Q programs are significantlymore secure than scripted shopping carts. We never release our source code to anyone which means only the expert staff at Bitwise Software International, Inc. has the ability to make changes to the store programs.
